Our EXCEL CAT5E SOLID CORE SHIELDED (FTP) TWISTED PAIR, is a high performance CAT 5E CABLE suitable for use with 10Mbps Ethernet, 100Mbps Ethernet and Token Ring. This SHIELDED CAT 5E CABLE is suitable for permanent and semi-permanent installations in CABINETS, and also flood-wiring of buildings. Each CABLE consists of 8 colour coded 24awg polyethylene insulated conductors. These are twisted together to form 4 pairs. These pairs are wrapped in an aluminium mylar tape screen with a drain wire. Suitable for installations where high levels of EMI and RFI could be present.
What does FTP stand for?
FTP is an acronym for Foil Twisted Pair or Foiled Twisted Pair. All the twisted pairs are screened by the surrounding foil wrapper.
